Treasures from an American Picker

On my quarterly trip to Nashville to meet with my mastermind group, Rachel and I got to meet Mike Wolfe from American Pickers. While I have seen the show a time or two and looked forward to meeting him, I was a little curious why he was asked to speak at our technology mastermind group. Sure enough he had nothing to say about technology, but he is quite the businessman and innovator, and as a business owner I found a few treasures in what he had to share!

This guy oozes integrity in everything he says and does. That is a treasure in itself! He is also full of passion and life and has made a serious business doing what he loves, picking junk. Mike took a pretty simple business that he is very passionate about and has expanded it into many different business, websites, merchandise and TV shows that he is equally as passionate about. I can’t even begin to describe the amount of ideas he has and how he has kept them all aligned with his vision, integrity, passion and purpose. This is innovation at it’s finest!

We were all amazed at his innovation, endless ideas and passion, but curious; how does one man implement on all these ideas? Mike’s answer, “I surround myself by good people to stay inspired, and by people who can do what you want to do. I can’t do it all, but I know people who can and who love it.”

With these treasures in mind we immediately made a plan for me to share my passion and true vision for small business technology on a wider scale. To implement that vision we made a plan that will empower our people and allow them to do more of what they love, so we can better serve our clients.
